Please read below your latest membership update from Hawthorn CEO, Justin Reeves:
Friday 5 June, 2020
No doubt you share my excitement, that in a week's time footy will be back! I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to play the Cats and from all reports neither are our players and coaches. How good will it be to sit back with the family, switch on the TV and watch the boys run out in the brown and gold? It feels like an eternity since we last got to enjoy some footy.
This season is already like no other and we must approach it with a preparedness to accept and embrace change. As we have seen already in the past few months, this situation remains a rapidly evolving one and those clubs who are able to take things in their stride will be those who succeed.
At it currently stands, we prepare to face our first four matches with the support of our 70,000 loyal brown and gold members behind us, albeit not with us physically. However, we will ensure that, from wherever you find yourself watching, you have the very best seat in the house. We will continue to welcome you into the inner sanctum and ensure the players know you’re right alongside them as we ride the bumps of season 2020.
These past few months have reaffirmed that ‘one for all and all for one is the way we play at Hawthorn.’ Regardless of what has been thrown your way, the overwhelming message from you all has been that we are in this together, always. We cannot thank our members enough for their loyalty and support.
For those of you who are able, we ask you to continue to stick with us as we ride the bumps (with a grin!) in 2020 and in doing so, to provide a message of support to our players ahead of Round 2. We will ensure these messages make their way to the cattery and fill GMHBA with the heart and soul of the Hawthorn family.
For those of you whose circumstances may mean you can no longer maintain your current arrangement, our membership team is on hand to help you navigate this and talk you through all the options available to you. Hawthorn is a special club. We are the family club in not only name, but in nature. We stick together, we strive together, and we rise together, always.
